
The basis of the CA concept is close collaboration between the leading manufacturers of printers, RIPs, media and inks. Apart from these companies, dealers, printing service providers and end users also benefit from the cooperation. After all, too many trial printouts, excessive waste and discussions with customers who are dissatisfied with the colours cost time and money.
Standardised colour management makes print results reproducible worldwide, that is, irrespective of the time and place of printing and the printing materials used. Coca-Cola advertising, for example, then always shines in the same colours, no matter whether it has been printed in the USA, Germany, China or the central African Republic of the Congo. "After all, the advantages of a standardised coating are self-evident, and that applies to all LFP applications no matter whether they are intended for use as large banners, façade advertising, trade fair systems or art
prints."
Owing to the standardised coating it is not only possible to ensure reliable quality, the amount of profiling and colour adjustment is cut by up to 90 per cent. Since inkjet media are optimally matched to one another, ultimately only one setting will be required for all the printing presses. This "guaranteed" production and colour reliability creates quantifiable standards and reduces the number of complaints. Other advantages of the new inkjet coating are that it requires much less ink (according to the manufacturer, Neschen, the saving can be anything up to 30 percent) so drying time is shorter.
